Getting back into a groove

Since Kamil and I have gotten back from our Wedding and Honeymoon I just can't seem to get back into a rhythm. The apt is a mess, I haven't done laundry in far too long and worst of all we have stopped exercising!

I can feel myself losing muscle! I have always loved food and eat a lot, albeit healthy food but I still love to eat! But I have to work out in order to do that. For some reason we just haven't been able to get back into biking. We've been back a month now (a month today) and I haven't lifted a finger. I need to get back on the bike and feel like I'm doing something. I guess I just feel gross since I'm not exercising and I also feel a lot more fatigued!

The last time I went out, though, I fell. We rode to Jersey and it was raining. There is a very steep hill on a somewhat busy road. There is a left turn half way down the road and I was going very slowly in order to make the turn. My front tire rolled over a manhole and since it was raining my whole bike just slipped and I feel over. My feet are clipped into my bike so I don't have the chance to put my feet down like you would on a regular bike. In a way, I'm a little scared to get back on the bike. But I'm also hating the way I feel lately. If I could just get back on the bike a few days a week I know I'd feel better. I'm in a wedding a few days after my birthday so I want to look good for that and not feel disgusting!

It's the Little Things

I'm trying to think more about those little things that make me happy throughout the day. Although today was just an average day, there were still a few little things that made me smile. One of my kids (who was supposed to have just changed schools on Tuesday) was back at school today. When he saw me he ran up to me and gave me a big hug. As difficult as my job can be, I do love the amount of hugs I get from these precious little 4 year olds!

I also really enjoyed making dinner tonight as well. I normally feel like making dinner is a chore, but for some reason I enjoyed making Corn Chowder today. I can't wait to have a bigger kitchen! All I've been wanting to do for the last few days is to bake cookies. Our kitchen has so little counter space that there is no room for our mixer my parents got us for our wedding. Someday! Hopefully sooner rather than later, I'll have a bigger kitchen!

I'm watching Bones while writing reports. I just started season 2 and I'm loving it! It's a a really good show that totally has me hooked.

I wish my days were more interesting and I had more to update on but the truth of the matter is that life is sort of boring right now, and I'm okay with that. I'm enjoying the day to day life of being married and all that entails.

Becoming Mrs. D

I've been wanting to start a blog for quite a while now, that everyone can read. I want to be able to stay up to date with family and friends on what is going on in our lives. Now that Kamil and I are starting our life together I figured now was the best time.

I have now officially changed my name but not without some bumps in the road, and much frustration. I made it through Social Security just fine and even had a very nice woman help me out. But the DMV was awful. It took nearly 3 hours to get through the process of getting a New York license and to change my name. While on the subway heading back home I decided to look at my temporary license. I'm looking it over and realize my name is spelled WRONG!!! Are you kidding me? He never asked me to look it over but just handed it to me and said "next". I was upset and hungry and got very frustrated with Kamil. Sorry baby! He was trying to help, saying that he was sure I would be able to fix the mistake on the phone. Through my experiences with the DMV, I had a feeling I would have to go back in! I called when I got home and sure enough I would have to go back in and do the WHOLE process over again AND pay a fee for THEIR mistake! I am SO frustrated that I have to waste more of my time because of someone else mistake.

Although my last name is spelled wrong (it's missing one letter in my last name) we decided to go to Chase bank to merge our accounts. Luckily this was painless and we were able to do it quickly. Now, all the money we make is ours, rather than mine or his.

The last thing I have to do is change over my stuff at work for tax purposes. I'm so glad that all of this is coming to an end and that I'll finally be Mrs. Dobrowolski!

Even with the misspelling and the stress, I am so happy this whole process is coming to a close. It makes it feel more real and even more like we are really married. We are now sharing a life and the government acknowledges that. I love it!
